pay attention to the very smallest details – so you don’t have to.
David Guinan CAPTAIN (ON ROTATION)
David is a master sailor with over 15 years experience as a captain. He has extensive knowledge of the cruising grounds on the East Coast of the United States. From New England to the Caribbean his experience cruising these areas means he can tailor itineraries for all types of charters.

A keen sailor from a young age, David has raced yachts all over the world from Australia to the United Kingdom. The Sydney to Hobart and the St Barths bucket are just two of the international races he has participated in. David also has a strong background in hospitality ensuring the perfect charter experience.
Carl Zaniboni CAPTAIN (ON ROTATION)
With 25 years in the marine industry, Captain Carl harbors a versatile and competent set of skills. His years on the sea have encompassed busy charter yachts to being an ice pilot in the cold artic to his owned yacht with his family onboard looking for adventure. Carl can adapt to any environment providing service to only the highest of standards. His strong vessel, engineering and crew management skills ensure guests a safe yet exciting charter experience, leaving them with memories to last a lifetime!

Carl was the Mediterranean’s 2002 Charter Captain of the Year and in 2005 his was the most chartered yacht in the Caribbean fleet. Guests can expect a fun, positive energetic experience when sailing with Carl. Carl holds a USCG 1600 Ton Master’s License.
Steven Strenkert CHEF
Steven is a culinary trained chef from the prestigious Culinary Institute of American with 10 year of experiences in 5-star restaurants in New York, Long Island, California and 15 years as a personal/private Chef on estates, motor and sailing yachts sailing to the Caribbean, Mediterranean, crossing the Atlantic and the Panama Canal. His fresh, local, and seasonal approach and love of serving people delicious food is demonstrated through his philosophy of servant leadership.
Susie Weaver FIRST MATE
Susie grew up in Santa Barbara, CA with a father who was a yacht Captain/Engineer for 40 years and a mother who was a Yacht Chef. Susie spent the majority of her childhood holidays sailing around the Caribbean and South Pacific visiting French Polynesia, The Cook Islands, Tonga, Fiji, Vanuatu, and the Solomon Islands on her father’s ketch, experiencing at a young age what the world has to offer.

After spending over a year in the yachting industry as a mate/engineer, she enrolled at the International Yacht Restoration School in Newport, RI studying marine systems to further her knowledge in marine engineering. She also holds a USCG 100GT masters license and is PADI open water certified scuba diver.

Susie is onboard to keep Marae in ship shape and ensure smooth sailing on board. Susie is also the person in charge of Marae’s many toys. Whether you wish to race around in the Lasers, kayak, paddleboard, or use one of the towable tubes, wakeboards, or water skis, she will make sure everything is prepared for a fun, safe time.
Brianna Alongi STEWARDESS
Bri comes from Abita Springs, Louisiana. She picked up a love of fine dining and mixing cocktails from growing up near the city of New Orleans. Bri has been in the yachting industry for two years cruising areas from the Bahamas to New England before joining the crew of S/Y Marae. For fun she enjoys cooking, exploring new cocktail combinations and snorkeling. Bri's attention to detail and passion for her job will ensure your every need is met and your trip is one to remember.
